MISSION
Pittsburgh Hardball Academy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit youth advocacy organization that strives to enrich the lives of youth in the Greater Pittsburgh area via the games of baseball and softball. We have an intent focus on empowering underrepresented populations. We deliver meaningful enrichment programming to create positive and transformative outcomes on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. Our vision is to create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive landscape across our region.
DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION
We serve youth from a variety of backgrounds, neighborhoods, and income levels. While Pittsburgh Hardball Academy is open to all, we maintain an intent focus on accessibility and delivery for underrepresented youth and communities.
PROGRAMMING
We provide affordable and accessible baseball and softball programming for youth including year-round travel teams, youth clinics, and community training programs. Furthermore, our FOCUS (Facilitating Opportunities for College and Universal Success) Program provides year-round academic enrichment (including focused college advisement & recruiting services) career readiness and social enrichment programming for middle school, high school and young adult participants.
RESULTS
Since the organization's inception, over 40 graduating seniors have accepted scholarships to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level. In addition, several of our graduates and young adult participants have completed college and continued their professional careers, on and off the field.
SOFTBALL!
On September 24, 2023, we hosted our first-ever Girls Fastpitch Softball clinic for ages 9-14, featuring guest coaches from the University of Pittsburgh Women's Fastpitch team! In addition, we have brought on our first-ever Director of Softball Development, Rebecca Uhlean! We look forward to hosting additional clinics at the Pittsburgh Hardball Academy Training & Education Center this fall and winter, starting in November!
